Our story began in 2004 when Prof. Rossaint, one of our co-founders, had a groundbreaking idea – the use of telemedicine in the German rescue service. The aim was to sustainably improve the quality of care and to use medical resources in a targeted manner.
After over a decade of intensive research and development, the innovative tele-emergency physician was born and laid the foundation for our company – Docs in Clouds. Since 2013, the tele-emergency physician has been an integral part of various municipal rescue services. Together with umlaut AG, we supported and further developed this pioneering system in a successful joint venture called “umlaut telehealthcare GmbH” until November 2020.
With the successful introduction of the tele-emergency physician, we shifted our focus to other medical areas, although telemedicine always remained our foundation.
