The TeleDoc-Mobile has been utilized in several projects to enhance telemedical care in elderly care. Here are some examples:

 

In 2018, the TeleDoc-Mobile was tested in a project in Wermelskirchen, Germanmy. The general practitioner reported that during the study period, there were no urgent house visits. Before the study, unplanned urgent visits were frequent on weekends (M. Ohligs, Clinical interventions in aging 2020, 1427-1437.).

 

Project AIDA: In 2021, a nursing home in the Eifel Region (Germany) introduced our system. The data showed that residents’ unplanned hospital admissions decreased by 35.7% compared to 2018/19 (P<.0001) after receiving regular teleconsultations from their general practitioner (A.-C. Redeker, Journal of Medical Internet Research 2023.).

 

Project OPTIMAL: In this project, 24 nursing homes in the Aachen district (Germany) were connected to our system. Unlike AIDA, the focus here was on acute issues where the advice of a doctor was needed and the general practitioner was not available. The 24 facilities could contact a doctor from the emergency department of the University Hospital Aachen for teleconsultations 24/7.

 

In addition to these projects, our product has been in use since 2019 by more than 100 customers in Germany and the Netherlands.

Video consultations are an efficient form of medical advice and support, but they do not replace telemedicine with medical diagnostics. The latter is necessary for precise diagnoses, exclusion of serious illnesses, and monitoring of disease progression. Medical devices provide objective information for informed decisions and personalized treatments. Therefore, medical diagnostics are indispensable for comprehensive care and better outcomes in telemedicine, also for legal reasons.

During a teleconsultation, the responsibility for the diagnosis and the resulting decisions lies with the treating physician. The professionals who take on the delegation are then responsible for ensuring that the implementation is correct.

Yes, we provide training for handling the TeleDoc-Mobile in connection with the purchase of the product. The training covers all relevant functions related to the hardware and software and is provided to you, your staff, and participating physicians.

 

The goal of the training is to eliminate any hesitations in using telemedical equipment from the outset. This ensures that you and your team are well-prepared for the implementation of telemedicine!
